Description
No quarterback in Husker history more exemplified the midwest values and work ethic than small town Kansas boy Brook Berringer. Playing in the large shadow of Tommie Frazier, Brook never complained and was always ready if he was called upon. Brook led NU through almost the entire 1994 regular season and split time with Frazier in the momentous 1995 National Title Orange Bowl win over Miami. Quiet, dependable, strong and fearless, Brook proved his toughness playing with a collapsed lung in the middle of the season after T. Frazier had gone down to injury. Brook died in a tragic plane crash just prior to reporting to the Kansas City Chiefs to begin his NFL career in 1996. 30 by 24 inches, framed with glass.
